Happy Festivus!! The Airing of Your Grievances....

Welcome, new comers. The tradition of Festivus begins with the airing of grievances. I got a lot of problems with you people! And now you're gonna hear about it!

Well today is that most important of events, the Festivus, and in keeping with tradition the Aging Disco Diva will begin the airing of grievances:

Flying Monkeys (aka: political pundits) during the past year you have disappointed me in the following ways:

The election is over, stop with the damn pooh flinging and the mudslinging. You wallowed in the making of mountains out of political mole hills this election season and the sheer wave of crapitude that was sent hurling our way was breath taking. All the Diva needs is a palace without monkey pooh flingage (or Karl Rove) stuck up on the walls. That's all I need.

KSU sports administration
during the past year you have disappointed me in the following ways:

Is it too much to ask for both a winning football and basketball program? I mean, come on. You are such a bunch of teasers...you give us a great football program but punished us with Tan Tom/Wooly basketball programs and when we beyotched about it you give us a great basketball program and Ron football. Thank goodness our women's basketball team maintains a standard of excellence. All the Diva needs is a winning football and basketball program, and a palace without monkey pooh flingage (or Karl Rove) stuck up on the walls
...and this ashtray, this paddle game, this remote control, these matches, this lamp, and this chair. That's all I need.

Cheers!

November's Nattering Nabob's of Negativism

Wow, what a November. The political part of it went great, work's not too bad, but football season?

How can I best describe what I have been experiencing this football season?

Well it started out this way:

Then progressed to:

Quickly slid into:

And has settled into:

Yes this football season has been as much fun as having a root canal done on one end and a hemorrhoidectomy performed on the other, without the aid of pain killers and mass quantities of alcohol. It has been BRUTAL. Two weeks ago the Diva thought she was having bad drug flashbacks to the 70s when getting a field goal in the midst of a 69-3 arse whupping was cause for a celebration.

Back then we were able to carry in flasks and six packs full of happy juice in to the games....this year we Wildcat fans had to watch it sans pain killers. Oye vey.

Our coach, Ron Prince, got the hook two weeks ago and like Ole George Bush he is a lame duck. We may or may not have a new coach...or we may have had a coach but when the story got out he may have gotten pissed and may or may not be coming. Or we may or may not have our previous coach coming back out of retirement or he might not be. Hell, I may or may not be the queen of the solar system (but I am the queen of the whole damn universe) or I might not be. Sigh. Two more games left in the season. Please make it stop

On a much brighter note, basketball season kicks off this weekend. The men and women play tonight.

I like Mike...why don't Chicago?

Michael Beasley is the best college basketball player in the nation. I don't care what kind of carnival game Sports Illustrated pulled with its "Player of the Year" selection fiasco. They kept changing the criterion all season long to ensure that their media darlin' was named POY ... the diva hates a rigged game, and IMHO this was rigged from the get-go. Micheal was the best player in college basketball this year and what is of even greater importance is that he is really a nice kid. More puzzling than the media insistence that a certain slow, flopper from North Carolina was superior to Micheal is the "character issue" that some have started bringing up now that we are approaching the NBA draft. Other than a couple of silly pranks involving a bet several years ago with his buddies over who could sign their name in more places in their prep school, there are no character issues. Holy carp people, let's put this into perspective: He signed his name where he should not have.... I have former students (several in fact) who are serving life sentences for committing horrendously brutal gang murders while they were teenagers...now THAT is a character issue. Being a kid who acts like a...well...kid... is not a character issue. It is called being immature--AKA: acting like a typical teenager.

Mike has not been involved in any fights with football players (unlike some unnamed Memphis player was got his arse whooped recently) Mike is not a baby daddy, he did not act like he was all that and a bag of chips while he was a student in Manhattan, he minded his mother, adored his sisters, got along great with his brothers, and is unapologetic about his love of anything to do with Sponge Bob Square Pants.

Let's face it, some feel that the NBA has an image problem and Mike can be the answer to that issue. He is freakishly talented, funny, and mischievous enough not to come off as a boring choir boy, but well enough behaved that his mother does not have to slap him down...

and he does have a fantastic mom (pictured here) who WILL slap him upside the head if he steps out of line.

Michael is every promoters dream come true. So what is the problem? Evidently a lot of Chicagoans don't like Mike, they don't want Mike, and have been filling the internet and airways with venomous comments about his supposed lack of work ethic (they obviously did NOT watch him play with the Wildcats last year) his "criminal past" (when asked to name specifics they can't) and his lack of leadership (again, they obviously did not watch him play this year) They have a friggin' h*rd-on for Derrick Rose which is fine. If you are from Chicago then work yourself up into a man-love lather over your home town boy, but do you morons have to try and paint the 19 year old Michael Beasley as the second coming of Beelzebub?

Then again we ARE talking about:

so I say to them:

The Aging Disco Diva has never had any real love for Chicago--after all I am from New York and our sports rivalries tend to run deep, but I was willing to forgo my personal enmity for the city of breaking wind if Mike ended up on the Bulls. Hell, I was ready for the world the end as I yelled "Go Bulls!" but after the way Mike has been treated by the Chicago sports fans and media... well... I will warn Chicago about one thing: Mike comes off as a goofy, good natured kid, but that quickly disappears when he is disrespected (ask the KU basketball team) and you will have, without a doubt, disrespected him if you pass on selecting him Thursday evening. He will smile and say "It's all cool", but he will remember it every time he takes the court against the Bulls.

Michael Beasley will be THE premier player in the NBA, and if the Chicago Bulls management does indeed allow its fan base and local media to turn this into a popularity contest then they will deserve the ridicule the sports world will heap upon them.

Whichever pro team Michael ends up on will have a TON of new Wildcat fans, because We LIKE Mike.

Lord, Please Make Her Go Away

The Aging Disco Diva is now convinced that Heather Mills is a walking, talking case of celebrity clap...you are not sure where you caught it, but it is the really nasty kind that is resistant to all known antibiotics and you just can't get rid of it. Dear Lord, what is it going to take to make her go away?

A Boil on the Arse of the World

HEATHER Mills isn't satisfied with her $48.6 million divorce settlement from Paul McCartney she has been "calling around British magazines and television shows to sell her exclusives." One insider said Mills is demanding 1 million British pounds - or slightly more than $2 million - to not only talk, but share intimate photos and tape recordings she made of the ex-Beatle without his knowledge. Mills is also said to be pitching to American networks.

Well, a girl just can't be expected to live on a measly $49 million dollars! Let's hawk pictures of Beatrice's daddy, I am sure someday she will appreciate her mommy's efforts to maintain the lifestyle to which mommy has grown accustomed to...and damn to hell any consequences for the child.

One More Reason Not To Watch The Miss Meat Show

Access Hollywood has confirmed that Mills will be a judge for the Miss USA pageant this spring. The Trump-owned pageant will air on NBC, live from Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on April 11.

Well isn't that just special? If she disagrees with her fellow judges will she dose Donnie and Marie Osmond with water (or if she is feeling particularly peckish some type of inflammatory liquid?) I can see The Donald's logic is acquiring her services....who better to advise the potential winners about the ins and outs of posing for cootchie porn--I mean "educational" photos?

Because if you lose your reputation, you lose everything....

Heather Mills has bizarrely posted old messages of support from Hillary Clinton and Sir Richard Branson on her personal website. The former model, has made a desperate bid to salvage her tarnished reputation by re-launching her personal internet site with dated tributes to herself.

In one message, Hillary - who is currently bidding to become the next US President - praises Heather’s charity work. Hillary said: “God bless Heather Mills… for the person she is and the work she does for all of us. I have been inspired by her vital charity work.” However, the clip was filmed in 2002.... Branson’s tribute is believed to have been made almost a decade ago.

The 40-year-old - who has removed all photos of Paul from the website - also added a personal message following her divorce settlement on Monday (17.03.08). Heather said: "I am so happy and relieved that this divorce has finally been settled and I am delighted with the overall outcome as I feel as if a great weight has been lifted."

Well Heather, if all else fails you can use some of your winnings and buy some positive testimonials. I bet Gary Coleman would give you a good word (if the money is right)

I stumbled upon a columnist from the UK who not only shares the Diva's opinion of the Harpy from Hell....she even came up with better ways of describing the shrew. Here are some excerpts from her column yesterday:

Heather Mills is only fooling herself

Jan Moir, Telegraph.co.uk

12:10am GMT, 19/03/2008

On the pavement outside the Royal Courts of Justice on Monday, Heather Mills finally unraveled in front of the world. Her eyes rolled like a crazy foal's. Her scattergun mouth moved too quickly for her brain to keep up."He got everything he wanted!" she cried. "No one wants to see me doing well!" As the treacherous incantation continued, her thin lips twitched and spooled, giving vent to the Geordie-accented fury that could not be placated by a £24 million payout, plus extras.

It was a horrible sight, like watching a pair of pink worms doing the tango while hooked up to some malign electric current. Fzzzzzt! Step away from the cage when the lady is in this crazy mood.

Sadly, Heather's spewing mental ugliness and vaunting self-interest have become a part of our cultural landscape over the past year or so. In the background, the great, empty prairie of her delusion stretches to the horizon and beyond.

Saint Heather of the Downtrodden would be funny if she were not quite so toxic, and is particularly odious when continually citing her "charity" work as a justification for everything she does and says.

As Heather apparently sees it, she should be the Britannia on our coins, the vegetarian flame of justice, the tireless campaigner for good deeds in dark corners.

Since the day she met Sir Paul McCartney, she has carefully camouflaged her own ambition with altruism, but if she is still fooling anyone, it can only be herself.

Heather Mills has traveled a long, hard road to this moment of utter public humiliation. She has obfuscated, exaggerated, lied and lied again without caring for the feelings of others. The tragedy is that she truly is a remarkable woman - just not in the way that she thinks.

Saint Heather of the Downtrodden...oh that is so snarky, so rude and so uncalled for...I friggin' LOVE it and am kicking myself for not having come up with it first.

Wildcat News

The elephant in the room

We will ignore the elephant in the room today. People who think that their actions somehow control the fate of the whole world are thought of as megalomaniacs. Since I KNOW my actions control the fate of the world I am not a megalomaniac...I am just powerful and must be very careful not to inadvertently jinx my beloved Wildcats this evening. So we will not speak of that which must not be spoken of.... let's just say

GO WILDCATS!!!!!!!
