Posh and Kate: A tale of two lollipops.

Posh and Kate: A tale of two lollipops.

Hmmm.... Catatonic Kate is getting even too skinny for Tiny Tom according to the latest buzz:

Tom Cruise is concerned that Victoria Beckham may have too much influence on his wife, Katie Holmes — especially when it comes to her eating habits, the Daily Mail reports.

Cruise wants to put some distance between Holmes and Posh Spice, a source told the paper.

"Katie sees Victoria as a role model," said the source. "She copies Victoria's look and even cut her hair the same way. She is very thin largely because she is following Victoria's strict 900-calories-a-day eating plan. She is copying Victoria's fad of eating seaweed shakes, frozen grapes and edamame beans. She is tiny."

At a recent lunch at L.A.’s Osteria Mozza, Holmes ate "only steamed asparagus as an appetizer, then a tiny plate of chilled beets for her entrée," a diner told Life and Style magazine.

During another recent outing to Madeo, Katie and Posh shared a green salad without dressing, one piece of fish and one side of steamed spinach, Life and Style reported. They also ordered one regular Coke and two glasses of ice.

“Katie poured half the soda into each of their glasses, then filled up the rest with bottled water,” a Madeo regular told the magazine

The Diva sees no problem with a 900 calorie diet... oh, wait a minute... you mean a DAY??????...never mind.....holy carp, the Diva thinks cutting calories means 900 calories a meal.... to put this into perspective: This weekend I was watching the Food Channel on Divo's new HDTV and was mesmerized by the Bobby Flay vs. Delilah Winder's Mac and Cheese "Throw Down" In fact I almost slipped and killed myself on the large drool puddle I left in front of the TV. Hot damn, Delilah's concoction looked great...and at 2,138 calories per friggin SERVING....yes, per SERVING...that is more calories than Catatonic Kate and Posh combined, eat in a damn week!!

In case you are interested here in the recipe:

--From Delilah Winder's "Delilah's Everyday Soul: Southern Cooking with Style" (Running Press, $29.95).

2 pounds elbow macaroni
12 eggs
1 cup cubed Velveeta cheese
1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter, melted
6 cups half-and-half
4 cups grated sharp yellow cheddar cheese
2 cups grated extra-sharp white cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups grated mozzarella
1 cup grated Asiago cheese
1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
1 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup grated Muenster cheese
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon black pepper

Preheat the oven to 325. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook until slightly al dente, about 10 minutes. Drain and set aside to keep warm.

Whisk the eggs in a large bowl until frothy. Combine the Velveeta, butter and 2 cups of the half-and-half in a large bowl. Add the warm macaroni, tossing until the cheese has melted and the mixture is smooth. Add the remaining half-and-half, 3 cups of the sharp yellow cheddar cheese, the remaining grated cheeses, and salt and pepper, tossing until completely combined.
Pour the mixture into a 9-by-13-inch casserole or baking dish and bake for about 30 minutes. Sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of sharp yellow cheddar cheese and bake until golden brown on top, about 30 minutes more. Serve hot.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.

OMG...I can smell myself getting fatter just typing the damn recipe....but whatta' way to go!!

  2. Hi cayasm, don't you just have the urge to grab Posh and stuff about five servings of the 7 cheese mac n cheese down her throat? (We of course could not let her run to the loo to upchuck it all) I about dropped dead of shock when I found out how many calories was found in just one serving! Thanks for stopping by :)

  3. One dozen eggs, 2 sticks of butter, and 12 1/2 cups of cheese...I think 1 serving of this would be their calorie intake for a year.

P.S. I am respectfully ignoring the disclaimer at the bottom of your blog. I'm a teenager, it's what we do. (I'm technically just a wee bit underage for your blog.)

  6. Hi Kath,

I don't think I could last a morning on her diet!

Since you are a young 'un I will let you in on a secret: The Diva is a product of the late 60s and 70s and our motto was "Rules were made to be broken" so ignoring the disclaimer makes you an automatic member in good standing of the Diva's minions ;) It probably should state "under 13" because, well let's be honest, once you hit thirteen you are a young adult...and over the age of 17 you can watch gory, nudie movies (in the US)... but "under 18" sounds impressive...and the Diva is so into being impressive, LOL. Thanks so much for stopping by.
