Don't Worry, Be Happy.

The Aging Disco Diva is a bit blue.... my beloved Wildcat men's basketball season is over. We fought the good fight and I am proud of how hard the team played; though a bit disappointed with the brain-dead reaction from some of our so-called fans. As you might have surmised the team lost this evening.

When I need some cheering up I have a small group of video titles that just make me smile or laugh. Here are some scenes from my favorite funny movies:

Airplane!

Princess Bride

O Brother Where Art Thou?

This is Spinal Tap

Anything directed by Christopher Guest

Coming to America (Eddie Murphy is such a dick in real life, but great in this movie)

Anything directed by John Waters (The Aging Disco Diva is one sick puppy)

The Addams Family and Addams Family Values

Ruthless People (I've watched it probably close to 100 times and still laugh)

Young Frankenstein---IMHO the funniest movie ever created. period.

My Cousin Vinny

Lady Wildcats play in the first round of the NCAA tournament tomorrow at 11:00am Kansas time.

GO WILDCATS!!!!!!!!

  2. What shockingly similar tastes we have. With the exception of the John Waters clip - I've only got Hairspray and Cry Baby - I've got every other one of those films on DVD.

  6. Hi Mark, you obviously are a man of fine taste ;) You must dip your toes into the John Waters..um..water. Every documentary or interview I have seen of John Waters has convinced me that he would be BFF with the Aging Disco Diva---he is man who is comfortable in his skin and has mastered the art of snark. Start slowly with "Serial Mom" (you saw the clip on my blog) and work your way through the rest of his works.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  8. I feel your pain about K-State [as a Buffalo native (see Super Bowls XXV - XXVIII - or don't)they are not happy moments for us Bills fans. But I do appreciate the pain you are in]. How gracious of you to run some great videos [and the Easter cartoon - I'm still laughing. It's a genetic condition, but it shoulsd let up soon] to ease all our pains [mine currently involves the Sabres. But what are ya gonna do?]
