Opposing coaches keep trying to top one another when it comes to describing the damage Kansas State's Michael Beasley has done to their teams.

Beasley has cut a swath through the Big 12 and the rest of college basketball. He's fourth nationally in scoring (25.2 points per game) and leads in rebounding (12.3). He has 19 double-doubles and has hit the 30-point mark eight times.

More important, he has the Wildcats (17-5 overall, 7-1 in the Big 12) in line for their first NCAA Tournament bid since 1996.

Beasley dropped 35 points on Nebraska last week, his second-highest output of the season.

"I don't know what he ended up with, but if you didn't know any better, he probably had about six or eight points," Nebraska coach Doc Sadler said. "He didn't force a thing. It just came to him. That's what a great player does."

It's similar to a compliment paid by George Mason coach Jim Larranaga earlier this season after Beasley tallied 30 against the Patriots. "He's better than anybody in college basketball right now," Larranaga told Rivals.com. "He has a beautiful shooting touch, and he keeps his game very simple.

"I explained to my players he doesn't make moves, he just makes shots. He doesn't show you what he can do then misses the shot."
